Miller Mendel Sees Dramatic Growth in First Quarter 2023 — 23 Public Safety Agencies Transition Their Hiring Process to eSOPH Background Investigation Software

Seattle, Washington – April 24, 2023: Miller Mendel, Inc. (MMI) saw dramatic growth over the course of the first quarter 2023, with 23 public safety agencies transitioning their hiring process to MMI’s innovative background investigation system, eSOPH. This represents a 35% increase in the number of new agencies transition in Q1, 2023 from Q1 the previous year.

In addition to bringing on 23 new agencies, which range from police departments and sheriff’s offices to attorney general’s offices and corrections departments, MMI expanded the eSOPH background investigation network into new states. By partnering with the Terre Haute Police Department, the agency became the first in the state of Indiana to transition to eSOPH, and the transition of the Village of Glencoe Department of Public Safety to eSOPH, makes them the first agency in Illinois to join the background investigation network.

Tyler Miller, MMI’s President and Chief Executive Officer said, “We are very excited that 23 new public safety agencies are benefiting from all that eSOPH has to offer and we expect that list of agencies joining our network to continue to grow at this accelerated rate over the next year and beyond. Agencies are realizing that now, more than ever, as the recruitment and hiring process continues to pose a challenge, they need to implement new technology solutions to get applicants hired faster, without sacrificing the quality of their background investigation process.”

eSOPH, which stands for electronic Statement of Personal History, has been used by city, county, and state police agencies across the nation to conduct over 130,000 pre-employment public safety background investigations. Agencies using eSOPH report saving up to 50 percent of their time per background investigation.
