Riverside, California – May 26, 2022: The Riverside County Probation Department recently joined two other California probation departments, Santa Barbara County Probation Department and Ventura County Probation Agency, in transitioning to the innovative eSOPH background investigation system by Miller Mendel, Inc. and in doing so, joined the largest public safety background network in the nation.
The department expects to process at least 495 applicants per year using eSOPH. In addition to taking advantage of eSOPH’s industry-leading standard functionality, one-click access to the National Decertification Index, and integrated California POST module, the department will utilize eSOPH’s optional features including Social Media Screening where with a click of a button, investigators can request social media and online activity screening reports.
eSOPH, which stands for electronic Statement of Personal History, has been used by city, county, and state police agencies across the nation to conduct over 100,000 pre-employment public safety background investigations. By transitioning to eSOPH, the Riverside County Probation Department joins several other California agencies on the system, including the California Highway Patrol, Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office, Ventura County Sheriff’s Office, Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, Santa Ana Police Department, Santa Monica Police Department, and several District Attorney’s offices. By implementing eSOPH, the Riverside County Probation Department is now connected to all other agencies on the network in California and throughout the nation.
